About 180 educators gathered at the Roberson Museum & Science Center in Binghamton on Friday, March 14, for a regional Uncommon Approaches to the Common Core conference.
In a busy and productive day, participants heard from Kate Gerson, Senior Fellow for Educator Engagement and The Common Core with the Regents Research Fund, a panel of educators discussing ways and means to embed cultural resources in the Common Core classroom, and a number of presenters on various topics related to the Common Core Learning Standards. WSKG videotaped portions of the conference - we'll let you know in this space when and where you can see the videos.
As you can see from the Upcoming Events listed on the righthand side of this page, regional conferences are planned in other parts of the state. Be sure to sign up for one in your region!
