Join the EEZ!

All cultural institutions in New York state are invited to join the New York Institute of Technology Educational Enterprise Zone. It's a free membership, and it will entitle your institution to use the suite of web-based tools for distance learning that the EEZ has created.

You'll be able to provide webinars, share your resources, and give access to your collection to teachers and students no matter where they are in the state. There is no charge to use these tools.

Visit http://eez.nyittbls.org/ to get started. In-person training sessions will be scheduled around the state so that you will be able to take full advantage of the tools.

Uncommon Approaches to the Common Core is an annual conference aimed at classroom teachers, school librarians, public librarians, academic librarians, public historians, and representatives from museums, archives, public television, NYS historic sites, performing arts and other cultural organizations.

The purpose is to develop understanding of the Common Core with the goal to create common skills, a common base of information and common language so that conference participants will be able to effectively support teachers, students (including English-language learners and children with special needs), and parents.
