Spring Into Action

On Tuesday, April 8, almost 50 educators from schools, libraries, museums, nature centers, and historic sites gathered at the Buffalo Zoo for Western New York Uncommon Approaches to the Common Core: A Call for Education Collaborations. In addition to in-depth explorations of the Common Core Learning Standards in Mathematics and English Language Arts and Other Curriculum Areas, participants considered how best to form educational partnerships across disciplines and across different types of institutions. The day closed with an inspirational session - via Skype - with Marc Aronson of Rutgers University, co-author with Adrienne Mayor of The Griffin and the Dinosaur: How Adrienne Mayor Discovered a Fascinating Link Between Myth and Science. New opportunities for teachers and students are sure to become available as a result of this wonderful day.

Attend an Uncommon Approaches event in your region. We'll post every opportunity right here!
